About Me

Welcome to my academic website. I am a Full Professor of Computing and Information Systems. I served as Graduate Program Director of Faculty of Science and Technology at Athabasca University of MSc Information Systems, Chair of School of Computing and Information Systems, Associate Dean of Faculty of Graduate Studies of Athabasca University. My research focuses on intelligent systems, adaptive learning, intellient tutoring systems, multiagent systems, and virtual reality (VR) based training Systems. I obtained my PhD from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hongkong, China in 1998. I am a senior member of ACM (Special Interest Group on Applied Computing) and a senior member of IEEE (Computational Intelligence and SMC). Prior to joining AU in 2000, I was a Research Officer of Institute of Information Technology at National Research Council (NRC) of Canada. I was a postdoctoral fellow in Intelligent Systems of the University of Calgary in Canada during 1998-1999. Please visit my AU web page.
